This study is aimed at identifying how the team teaching for English listening and speaking is affected by the characteristics of the three groups of participants such as the students, native English speaking teachers (NESTs), and Korean teachers of English (KTEs), and finding out their desirable roles for the successful implementation of team teaching. Several kinds of survey were conducted to ask their opinions on the various aspects of the team teaching. The results are as follows. (1) Teachers' preparedness appeared to be closely related to their teaching skills and classroom-management strategies, and the students' participation appeared to be deeply connected to their language skill development. (2) The KTEs appeared to be much more influential to the student's learning in team teaching than the NESTs. (3) The students highly valued teachers' passionate involvement, understanding attitudes, humor, good personalities, and strategies facilitating the students to overcome the fear of being embarrassed in front of their peers. (4) The NESTs and KTEs stressed that self-confidence and motivation are needed for the students to be good English speakers. They also emphasized the importance of cooperation of the NESTs and KTEs, and indicated that most of the problems stem from lack of preparation, poor communication, and misunderstanding between the two parties.
