As Internet grows rapidly, harmful information on the Internet becomes a matter of public concerns. To deal with this problem, several researchers have discussed information technology ethics education. The curriculum of information technology ethics for adolescents should include the educational contents that are appropriated to their information technology ethics consciousness. Therefore, we need to diagnose adolescents' information technology ethics consciousness. The purpose of this study is to examine adolescents' information technology ethics consciousness and to suggest proper curriculums for information technology ethics education. First, we surveyed 452 students with Information Technology Index and analyzed sub-indicators consisting of four indicators: respect, responsibility, temperance, and recognition of moral rules. The survey result showed that students have significant differences in Information Technology Index according to their gender, school-type and using period. Finally, we suggested new curriculum of Information Technology Ethics based on the surveyed results.

인터넷이 급성장함에 따라 인터넷 상의 유해정보로 인한 사회적 문제가 다양한 영역에서 대두되고 있으며, 교육을 통한 개선 방안에 대한 논의가 이루어지고 있다. 중등학생들을 위한 정보통신윤리 교육과정은 청소년들의 정보통신윤리 의식 수준의 정확한 진단을 통해 청소년들의 실제 의식 수준에 적합한 내용으로 구성되어야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 국내 청소년들의 정보통신윤리 의식 실태를 분석하고 정보통신윤리교육과 관련된 현행 교육과정을 분석하여 유해정보로부터 청소년들을 보호하기에 적합한 교육과정 개선방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 먼저, 정보통신윤리위원회에서 개발한 정보통신윤리지수를 중등학생 452명(중학생 204명, 고등학생 248명)에게 적용하여 하위 요소인 존중, 책임, 절제, 규범인식의 네 가지 지표에 대해 분석하였다. 조사 결과 청소년들은 정보통신윤리 수준에 대해 성별, 학교급별, 사용기간별로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이러한 실태 조사 결과를 토대로 정보통신윤리교육과 관련된 현행 교육과정 및 교육내용을 분석하였으며 개선되어야 할 정보통신윤리 교육과정을 제시하였다.
