The purposes of this study were to investigate how discussion of moral conflicts found in the traditional fairy tales affects on young children’s moral judgment and their behavior. This study focused on following questions: 1. How does the discussion of moral conflicts found in the traditional fairy tales affect on young children’s moral judgment? 2. How does the discussion of moral conflicts found in the traditional fairy tales affect on young children’s moral behavior? The results of this study are as follows: First, a significant difference between the experimental and the control group was found on the influence of the discussion of moral conflicts in the traditional fairy tales on the moral judgment of young children’s, p< .01. The moral judgment of good intention shows a significant difference, while that of bad intention shows little difference. Second, a significant difference was found on the influence of the discussion of moral conflicts in the traditional fairy tales on young children’s moral behavior, p< .01. Both moral behaviors in their moral regular domain, p< .01 and their conventional regular domain, p< .01, show significant differences between the experimental and the control group.

본 연구는 전래동화의 도덕적 갈등상황에 대한 토의활동이 유아의 도덕적 판단력 및 행동에 영향을 미치는지 밝히는데 그 목적이 있다. 연구 대상은 경상북도 영천시에 소재하고 있는 공립유치원 2개원에 재원 중인 만 5세 유아 36명으로 실험 집단은 A초등학교병설유치원 만 5세 유아 18명(남: 14명, 여: 4명)이며, 통제 집단은 B초등학교병설유치원 유아 18명(남: 15명, 여: 3명)이었다. 도덕적 판단력 검사일을 기준으로 하여 실험집단의 평균연령은 6년 3개월, 통제집단의 평균연령은 6년 2개월이었다. 실험 집단은 3그룹으로 나누어 11주간 토의활동을 18회 실시하였다. 연구결과 전래동화의 도덕적 갈등상황에 대한 토의활동이 유아의 도덕적 판단력과 도덕적 행동에 있어 통계적으로 유의미한 수준에서 차이가 있었다.
