This study was to find out how children's playfulness and the children's prosocial behavior appear and to investigate how in children's developmental behavior and the relation between children's playfulness and children's prosocial behavior according to their gender. Participants for this study were 390 children(180 boys and 210 girls) attending twelve private kindergartens in Cheongju, Cheongwon-gun of Chungbuk. To measure the children's playfulness, the Kim's(2001) children's playfulness instrument were used. And as a measure children's prosocial behavior, You's(2000) Teachers Skill Checklist was used. Results of this study were as follows: First, the mean of children's playfulness was 3.65, which showed the level between point 3(That is an average) and point 4(That is some right). Second, the mean of children's prosocial behavior was 3.52, which showed the level between point 3(sometimes) and point 4(often). Third, there were significant correlations between the children's playfulness and children's prosocial behavior, p< .01. To examine each sub-factor for the relation between children's playfulness and children's prosocial behavior, there were a significant correlations between children's playfulness and ‘beginning social skills’, ‘school-related skills’, ‘friendship-making skills’, ‘dealing with feeling', ’alternatives to aggression‘ in children's prosocial behavior, p< .01.

본 연구는 유아의 놀이성과 유아의 친사회적 행동이 성별에 따라 어떻게 나타나며 유아의 놀이성과 친사회적 행동의 관계에서 성별 특성이 어떻게 반영되고 있는지 알아보는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 결과 첫째, 유아의 놀이성의 문항별 평균은 3.65이었고, 놀이성의 문항별 평균은 남아가 여아보다 높게 나타났으며 성별 간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 유아의 친사회적 행동의 문항별 평균은 3.52이었고, 친사회적 행동의 문항별 평균은 남아보다 여가 높게 나타났으며, 성별 간에 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 유아의 놀이성과 친사회적 행동과의 관계를 성별에 따라 살펴본 결과, 남아의 놀이성은 친사회적 행동의 사회생활 기본 능력, 기관 적응 능력, 친구관계 기술, 감정 다루기, 비공격적으로 대처하기와 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으나, 스트레스 다루기와는 유의한 상관이 나타나지 않았다. 여아의 놀이성은 친사회적 행동의 사회생활 기본 능력이 유의미하게 높은 상관이 나타났고, 기관 적응 능력, 친구관계 기술, 감정 다루기, 비공격적으로 대처하기와 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다.
