The purpose of this research is to establish effects of the handball coach’s transforming leadership on player satisfaction and system efficiency and differences in athletic performance levels. To achieve this, the related data on 244 handball players were collected and analyzed using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The conclusion of the analysis is as follows. First, the handball coach’s transforming leadership had positive effects on player satisfaction. Second, the handball coach’s transforming leadership had positive effects on group cohesiveness. Third, the player satisfaction of handball players had positive effects on group cohesiveness. Fourth, in the relationship between the handball coach’s transforming leadership and player satisfaction and group cohesiveness, what made differences in the athletic performance levels was the relationship between player satisfaction and group cohesiveness. Based on this conclusion, in order to enhance handball players’ athletic performance, the synergistic effect can be obtained when the mutual effects of player satisfaction and group cohesiveness are positive through the coach’s transforming leadership. Particularly, from the viewpoint that the athletic performance level of handball reserve players can be determined by raising the self-perceived player satisfaction, efforts need to be made to present appropriate measures on this matter.
