The purpose of this article is look at the meaning of the gyehu conflict of in the the study of novel trends in Korean that is ‘analysis of visual diversity and refinement’, incidence of the keyword women’, ‘refocus of samdaerok-style Korean full-length novels’. From the perspective of female characters, however, gyehu conflicts can be understood as part of work setting to describe the journey of female main characters facing and overcoming hardships vividly. The narrator of highlights the matter of gyehu strategi- cally and puts forward the reinforcement of masculine family conscious- ness onto the surface. And in the back, it structurally repeats the narration of the female main character’s hardship and self-recovery that can form bond of sympathy among women, the major readers, so that they can be immersed into this work having continuous interest.

본고는 ‘분석시각의 다양화와 세밀화’, ‘여성이라는 키워드의 부각’, ‘삼대록계 국문 장편 소설의 재조명’이라는 21세기 국문 장편 소설의 연구경향 속에서 <유효공선행록>에 나타난 계후갈등의 의미를 再考하는 것을 목적으로 기술되었다. 여성인물을 중심으로 볼 때, <유효공선행록>은 계후갈등이라는 구조적 틀을 설정하고 그 안에서 여주인공의 고난과 자기회복의 서사를 구조적으로 반복하고 있다. 즉 서술자는 전략적으로 宗家思想과 장자상속제도 등과 관련된 계후문제를 부각시켜 남성적 가문의식의 강화를 표면에 내세우고, 그 이면에서 주 향유층인 여성들의 공감대를 형성할 수 있는 여주인공의 고난과 자기회복 서사를 구조적으로 반복하여 독자들이 작품에 지속적인 흥미를 가지고 몰입할 수 있도록 하였던 것이다.
