The effect of attendance center order program based the 'Good Lives Model' on the basic psychological needs, empathy, and self-regulation of juvenile delinquents

The purpose of the study was to examine effects of attendance center order program based ‘Good Lives Model’ on the basic psychological need, empathy, and self-regulation abilities of juvenile delinquents. Good Lives Model from the strengths perspective is an alternative way of problem-focused probation program which dominated the probation system. The subjects in the experimental program were 17 students under probation by the K probation office. This program was held for 8 hours a day and five times a week, 40 hours as a total. The pre-post design was applied to the non-similar control group to verify the effect of the program, and the non-parametric statistical analysis was used to analyze the pre-post effect. The result of the study showed a significant effect on the basic psychological need, empathy, and self-regulation abilities of juvenile delinquents. Finding in this study provide implications for availability of attendance center order program based Good Lives Model for juvenile delinquents.
