초록

영어

Background; Most gifted students prefer self-directed learning with computerized tool. Here we developed an app called “Plants in Dokdo” for students to independently learn as they look through plants which grow in a unique ecological environment. Although Korean students have an interest in Dokdo, there are many obstacles to visit this island. Therefore, this app can provide an educational opportunity for students to do a virtual field trip. Design and Methods; We observed the plants in their natural habitat and located the place using a GPS for making a map of the flora. An App was developed containing information and photographs of plants and uploaded to App store. Results; Students can do the virtual field trip to Dokdo by accessing this “Plants in Dokdo”App. This App provides educational tool of the plant ecology with specific interests. Conclusion; App becomes an education tool for students to understand plant diversity and ecology without textbook.
