In research on the medieval German city, the subject of the "identity" have a important meaning. It concerns mainly collective identity of a city. In this paper, however, attention should be paid to the social identity of citizens in the medieval city. Many studies in recent years shed light on questions about the city's patron, the city seal or the cityscape and talk more about the important role of ecclesiastical institutions in the city which is considered important in this paper. The social identity of citizens can be derived based on its foundations at the parish church in the city of Nuremberg here. Firstly, the different social roles of both parishes, St. Sebald and St. Lorenz, studied through the outstanding artifacts in the choir. On the other hand, the analysis of the east chancel window in the foundation of St. Sebald pay attention to the social duty as a motive. Thirdly, the social background is discussed why a councilor had around 1480 for all faithful souls donated a Marian antiphon "Salve Regina". As a result, the duality of these citizens a sense of belonging to the urban society, that revealed the essence of their social identity.

중세 독일의 도시를 연구하는 데 있어서 ‘정체성’이라는 주제 또한 큰 중요성을 지닌다. 그것 은 주로 도시의 집단적 정체성에 관련된다. 하지만 이 글에서는 중세 도시민의 사회적 정체성 에 관심을 두고자 한다. 최근의 많은 연구들은 도시후원자, 도시인장, 혹은 도시풍경에 관한 문제들을 조명하며, 이 논 문에서 중요하게 여기는 교회 기관의 중요한 역할에 대해 보다 가까이 접근한다. 도시민의 사 회적 정체성은 뉘른베르크에 있는 교회의 기증품에서 밝혀질 수 있다. 먼저 제단의 훌륭한 예 술품들을 통해 성 제발트 교회와 성 로렌츠 교회 양쪽 모두가 행하는 다양한 사회적 역할들이 관찰된다. 다음으로 성 제발트 교구교회의 동편 제단에 있는 기증된 스테인글라스는 사회적 책무를 주제로 제시한다. 세 번째로 사회적 배경에 대한 분석은 왜 1480년 경 시 참사회 의원 들이 모든 신앙심 있는 영혼들을 위하여 “성모찬가”를 바쳤는지 잘 알려준다. 결론적으로 이러한 연구를 통해 이 도시민들의 도시사회에 대한 이중적 소속감, 즉 도시민들 의 사회적 정체성의 본성이 밝혀진다.
