The study subjects were 347 participants in sports for all in Incheon and Seosan in order to examine the level of exercise addiction of recreational exercise participants. Measured Value of Korean Exercise Addiction(Shin-Wook Kang, 2009) was used as a measurement of exercise addiction. The dependent variables in the exercise addiction measurement consisted of emotional attachment to exercise, withdrawal symptom and exercise need. The independent variables in the level of exercise consisted of sports event, experience of participation, frequency of participation, participation motivation and subjective health status. For data processing, t-test and one-way ANOVA were performed. The results can be summarized as follows: First, higher difference in the level of exercise addiction according to the sports events of the recreational exercise participants was found in individual events than team events in withdrawal symptoms. Second, high differences in the level of exercise addiction according to the experience of participation of the recreational exercise participants were found in emotional attachment, withdrawal symptoms and exercise need in proportion to the experience of participation. Third, high difference in the level of exercise addiction according to the frequency of participation of the recreational exercise participants was found in withdrawal symptom in proportion to the frequency of participation. Fourth, the highest difference in the level of exercise addiction according to the participation motivation of the recreational exercise participants was found in emotional attachment, and stress relief was the highest in withdrawal symptom and exercise need. Fifth, emotional attachment and withdrawal symptom were high when the recreational exercise participants considered their subjective health status as bad.
