The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of two-hand backhand shots on wrist extensor and flexor muscle activation. Fourteen collegiate tennis athletes were participated in this study. The subjects does not have experiences of surgery on lateral epicondyle of elbow and musculoskeletal for at least last 6 months. The mean and standard deviation of data was calculated by SPSS/PC 18.0 and One-way ANOVA (post-hoc: LSD) was used to verify differences among groups. Significant level was p<.05. The results of this study were as follows; 1. There was significant difference on maximal value of muscle activation of extensor carpi ulnaris (D>S>V) and on maximal value of muscle activation of flexor carpi radialis(D>S>V) in male athletes by types of two-hand backhand shot(p<.05). 2. There was significant difference on maximal and average value of muscle activation of flexor carpi radialis(D>V>S) in female athletes by types of two-hand backhand shot(p<.05). In conclusion, this study suggests that beginers should learn a drive after aquiring the other skills to prevent their injuries since the level of muscle activation is higher than the others.
