This study was to find out the relationships between coaching behavior, resilience and group cohesion of college male athletes. Participants of this study were 287 male athletes participated in Nationa-wide sport event. Participants completed questionnaires that included measures of coaching behavior, resilience and group cohesion . For data analysis, SPSS PASW Statistics 18 and AMOS 18 program were used to perform correlation analysis, and Structural Equation Modelling analysis. Leadership behavior was measured using Leadership Scale for Sports(LSS; Celladurai & Saleh, 1980), Resilience was measured using Resilience Quotient Test( RQT; Reivich & Shatte, 2003) and Group cohesion was Group Environment Quotient(GEQ; Carron, Widmeyer, & Brawley, 1985). The results of the structural equation modelling analysis showed that coaching behavior had direct effect on group cohesion. Resilience had not effect on group cohesion statistical significantly. Finally, coaching behavior style had significantly direct and indirect effect on group cohesion via resilience factor. Consequently, the mediating effect of group cohesion was mediated by resilience. The constitutive and operational definitions of group cohesion have varied across various disciplines in group dynamics. Recently, it has been suggested that a conceptualization of cohesion proposed by Carron, Widmeyer, and Brawley could have broad research applicability for different types of groups. However, results from a few studies have raised questions about the validity of this suggestion. One reason is that they failed to take into account the varied nature of groups and group cohesiveness. To clarify issues associated with measuring cohesion and testing various research questions, this article suggested for the conditions and procedures necessary to examine the structure of group cohesion in a variety of group contexts
