The purpose of this study is to explore the trend of needs assessment which is emphasized in social welfare practice fields. We try to content analyze “The report of Need Assessment” of 8 Social Welfare Centers in B city. We analyze them based on research method, research target, research content and the analyzing method of the data. The result is that there are trend of improvements to convergent needs assessment model on research design and research content except data analysis. This study is the first one that analyze longitudinally needs assessment which is essential in social work field.

본 연구는 사회복지현장에서 강조되고 있는 욕구조사의 실태와 변화추이를 파악하고자, B시의 8개 지역사회복지관에서 10여 년 동안 발간하였던 욕구조사보고서의 내용분석을 시도하였다. 수렴적 욕구조사 모델을 기준으로 조사방법, 조사 대상, 조사 내용, 분석 방법을 중심으로 내용분석을 실시하였으며, 분석결과 조사설계나 조사내용 측면에서는 수렴적 욕구조사모델로의 발전경향을 보이고 있었으나 자료분석방법 측면에서는 여전히 한계가 많이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 실천현장에서 필수적으로 실시되고 있는 주민 욕구조사를 종단적으로 분석한 첫 연구이며, 실천현장에 실천적 함의를 제시했다는데 의의가 있다.
