This is a study about the archetype of thought of local people. The subject of this study is Mt. Daeam, the ritual for rain at the Yong Nup(the Swamp of Dragon), and the underlying consciousness of the natives. I studied here the archetype of thought in the area about Mt. Daeam and the process of the ritual for rain. Here I studied in the point of that many people are living in, rather with mountains in Gangwon-do. I studied in two ways; Mt. Daeam and the swamp of Dragon. The ritual for rain at the Yong Nup(the Swamp of Dragon) is composed of three steps; Soothing the Dragon, Teaching the Dragon and Scolding the Dragon. I studied the archetypes of thought at each step.Through this study, I observed the archetype of thought in Gangwon-do. Though I couldn't explore all the aspects of the archetype of Gangwon-do her, but it is meaningful to have been able to know the archetype underlying in Mt. Daeam and the ritual for rain at the Yong Nup(the Swamp of Dragon). If we continue this kind of study focusing every particular subject like rivers or seas, the study of overall archetype underlying the people of Gangwon-do should be possible.

이 논문은 지역원형의식에 대한 논의이다. 그 대상은 대암산과 대암산용늪기우제에 내재한 지역인의 원형의 식에 대한 것이다. 논의 방법은 대암산 주변 사람들의 대암산에 대한 원형의식과 용늪기우제를 지내는 유형을 통해 원형의식을 탐구하는 것으로 하였다. 강원도에는 산이 많고 산을 배경으로 삶을 영위하는 사람들이 많다 는데 착안한 논의였다. 논의과정은 크게 대암산과 용늪기우제로 나누었다. 대암산은 일상과 생활의 터전, 신성과 외경의 대상으로 그 원형의식을 고찰했고, 용늪기우제는 기우제를 지내는 방식에 따라 용 달래기(기원제), 용 가르치기(키씻이), 용 혼내기(개적심, 투장)로 나누어 그에 내재한 원형의식을 고찰했다. 이를 통해 강원인이 갖고 있는 원형의식 의 일단을 고구할 수 있었다. 비록 이 논문을 통해 강원인의 원형의식 전반을 밝힐 수는 없었지만, 부분이나마 대암산과 용늪기우제에 얽힌 원형의식은 밝힐 수 있었다는데 의의를 둬야할 것이다. 왜냐하면 강, 바다처럼 특정 부분을 중심으로 본고와 같은 고찰이 이어지면 강원인이 갖고 있는 원형의식 전반에 관한 논의도 가능하리라 보기 때문이다.
