Few are the researches on the 1880 version of the woodblock-printed Hanyang-ga that have considered it as a commercial publication(bangakbon). The focus of interest, rather than its value as a literary work, has been on its importance as a useful material in order to gain information about the Seoul of the period. This paper examines the previous researches on Hanyan-ga and briefly analyzes its contents regarding it as a commercial publication; after examining Song Shin-yong’s annotated edition of Hanyang-ga and other articles dealing with the Hanyang-ga, I show that, although the fine quality of Song’s work, there is need of a new edition. Furthermore, I emphasize the importance of treating Hanyang-ga as a commercial publication.

1880년 방각본으로 간행된 ｢한양가｣에 대해서 상업출판물이라는 관점에서 접 근한 연구는 거의 없다. ｢한양가｣는 작품 자체에 대한 관심보다는 서울에 관한 글 을 쓸 때 작품 속의 내용이 자주 인용되는 자료로서의 의미가 컸다. 이 논문에서는 이제까지 나온 ｢한양가｣ 연구를 검토하고, 방각본의 시각으로 작품의 내용을 간단 히 분석했다. 필자가 검토한 기존 연구는, 1949년 송신용이 낸 ｢한양가｣ 교주본 과 ｢한양가｣를 주제로 한 몇 편의 논문이다. 이 검토를 통해 송신용이 낸 교주본이 훌륭한 것이기는 하나 새로운 교주본이 나와야 할 필요성이 있음을 말했고, ｢한양 가｣를 방각본의 관점에서 다룰 필요가 있다는 점을 강조했다.
