Incoterms Rules which is commonly used in international commercial transaction may effect not only on the rights and obligations of parties to sales but also on logistics and marketing strategy. Therefore, exporting company should consider marketing strategy and logistics costs in choosing the rules appropriate for the circumstances concerned. However, it is true that traditional rules such as FOB and CIF are still practically used in the business world. This article analysed main factors which could influence on efficient supply chain management and operation. Pros and cons of the Incoterms 2010 Rules from the perspective of contracting party also be discussed individually.

국제거래에 사용되는 Incoterms 규칙은 물품의 인도와 관련한 위험 및 비용의 이전 등 매매 당사자의 권리․의 무와 기업의 물류 및 마케팅 전략에 영향을 미치게 된다. 따라서 기업들은 기업의 마케팅 전략이나 물류비용 등을 고려하여 당해 상황에 적합한 규칙을 선택하여야 한다. 하지만, 실무적으로는 여전히 관행적으로 FOB 규칙이나 CIF 규칙 등 전통적인 규칙들을 주로 사용해오고 있다. 본 논문은 기업의 효율적인 물류 및 공급망 관리 차원에서 거래 상황에 따른 Incoterms 2010 규칙의 합리적인 선택기준을 제시하기 위해 공급망 프로세스의 효율적인 관리 및 운영에 영향을 미칠 수 있는 요인들과 수출입 당사자의 입장에서 개별 규칙이 가지는 장단점을 분석하였다.
