In the midst of the recent territorial disputes among South Korea, China and Japan, there have been ongoing disputes between Korea and Japan on Dokdo Islet and between Korea and China on Ieodo Islet. Although Ieodo Islet is but only the rocky reef, it is as important as Dokdo Islet in terms of securing the marine living resources and securing the maritime territory as well as the surrounding area. In addition, the public who visit the southernmost Islet of Marado should be informed of the entity of the legendary island of Ieodo Islet providing with a space for people to find a spade to enjoy the beauty of the scenery around Marado Islet and the Ieodo Memorial Park as a space where the new value of Ieodo Islet can be revealed. The validity and necessity of the Ieodo Memorial Park are the main purpose of this study.
