This study tried to analyse the various abbreviation marking of title in Buddhist literature. According to the study, we could know the facts as follows ; 1. Types of title abbreviation are like syllable omission, contents abbreviation, author name abbreviation, but mostly was syllable omission preferred. 2. The syllable in the title of cover page was abbreviated to 3 to 4 syllable whose trends is up to 70% of all. 3. Title at the center of pages was more shorter form than the cover title, its syllable mainly shorter than 4 letters whose share was 97% of all. 4. Shorter form in the title at the center page might come from limited space of engraving spot at Pansim(版心).

본고는 책판목록의 불교문헌 서명 축약에 대해 분석한 것으로, 그 결과는 다음과 같다. 1. 서명 축약의 방법에는 음절 축약, 내용 축약, 저자명 축약이 있으며, 대부분의 불교문 헌이 사용하는 서명 축약은 음절 축약이다. 2. 표제의 음절수는 3-4음절로 축약한 경우가 가장 많으며, 전체의 약 70%를 차지한다. 3. 판심제는 표제보다 원서명이 더 간단하게 축약되어 있으며, 원서명의 長短에 관계없 이 4음절 이하가 대부분을 차지하며, 이는 조사된 문헌 중 약 97%에 해당한다. 4. 표제보다 판심제가 원서명이 더 축약되는 이유는 목판을 판각할 때 판심부분의 공간 적인 제약을 많이 받기 때문이다.
