Horim Museum is famous as one of a private museum in Korea. A considerable number of collection in the museum is evaluated rare and valuable. But very limited oldbooks were opened to the public such as Tripitaka Koreana and some part of manuscripts. So we tried to investigated entire oldbooks of Horim Museum during my tenure of curator. In this study, we summarized the status of oldbooks printed with the metal type and made of list. and study special feature and value about rare books of Horim collections. Oldbooks printed with metal type are 151 kinds of 489 books. They were published in the Joseon Dynasty. The reseacher found undiscovered Hyangsansamchebeop printed with the first Gapinja-metal type. The book Zizhitongjiamgangmu whose style has two lines of four border in the text, so called SajooSSangbyun was regarded that the publishing year in 1422. But there were publication record of 1428 at the end of the book. Comparative studies should be carried between one line side(SaJudanByen: 사주 쌍변) style books of Zizhitongjiamgangmu that about the relationship between the two books and study of first published Zizhitongjiamgangmu with Gyungjaja-metal type. Also new edition of Geunsarok printed with first Gapinja-metaltype was discovered in this study. The cover of this book cover was made of Silver on Indigo Paper manuscript in the Goryeo Dynasty. That has considerable meaning about thinking of Buddhism in the Joseon Dynasty. We hope this study could be helpful on the research of metal type printing.

호림박물관은 국내 3대 사립박물관으로 소장 유물의 가치를 높게 평가받고 있다. 하지 만 소장 유물 중 전적은 대장경과 사경만이 일부 알려져 있다. 본인은 호림박물관에 재직 하며 전적에 대한 전수조사를 실시하였다. 그 중 금속활자본을 대상으로 현황을 정리하였 고, 주요 금속활자본의 특징과 가치에 대하여 기술하였다. 호림박물관 소장 금속활자본은 총 150종 489책으로 조선시기에 간행된 다양한 금속활 자본이 존재하며, 기존에 원본이 남아있지 않다고 생각하였던 초주갑인자본 『香山三體法』이 확인되었다. 경자자본『資治通鑑綱目』중 사주쌍변본은 기존에 실록의 기록에 근거하여 제작 시기 를 1422년으로 여겼으나, 발문이 붙어있는 마지막 권을 확인하여 제작시기는 1428년 무렵 으로 확인되었다. 앞으로 사주단변본과의 비교연구를 통하여 두 인본의 관계와 1422년 경자자 초인본에 대한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것이다. 또한 초주갑인자본 『近思錄』의 표지를 감지은니 고려사경으로 만들어 놓은 인본이 확 인되어 앞으로의 사경연구와 조선시대 불경에 대한 인식을 연구하는데 도움이 될 것으로 생각된다. 호림박물관의 금속활자본을 통하여 앞으로의 여러 금속활자본 연구에 도움이 될 수 있기를 기대한다.
