This study investigated the method of bibliographical description of Haedongmunheon- chongnok, a classified annotated bibliography compiled by Kim Hyu in Joseon Dynasty. The bibliographical description was examined regarding title, volume number, written age, name of author, functional word of authorship, and noteworthy examples. It was a limitation that indicated the lack of unity and coherence in the bibliographical description of Haedong-munheon-chongnok. However, its great significance in the history of bibliographical description can be found in the fact that Kim Hyu established entries for annotated works based on his own methods of description.

본 논문은 조선시대에 김휴(金恷)가 편찬한 분류순 해제목록인 ｢해동문헌총록(海東文獻總錄)｣의 목록기술방식에 대해 연구한 것이다. 목록기술은 표제, 권수, 저작시대, 저자 명, 저작역할어, 기타 특기할만한 목록기술사례 등으로 구분하여 각각의 특성을 살펴보았 다. 이 ｢해동문헌총록｣은 그 목록의 기술방식에 있어 통일성과 일관성을 지니지 못한 점은 아쉽다. 그러나 당시 열악한 상황에서 김휴가 나름대로 목록기술방식을 설정하여 저록의 엔트리를 작성한 점은 한국목록기술사에서 대단히 큰 의미를 부여할 수 있겠다.
