The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics and significance of Ch'onga-gugŭppang, a medical book for the public, written in the mid-Joseon Dynasty. In this study, the life and thought of Kim Jeong-guk who was a civil minister and an author of Ch'onga-gugŭppang, and the background of writing this book are examined. Also, the literature cited in Ch'onga-gugŭppang are analyzed according to the symptoms and compared with the literature cited in Dongui-bogam which was a representative specialized medical book in the mid-Joseon Dynasty to document the value of Ch'onga-gugŭppang as a medical book for the public.

본 연구는 조선중기 구급의서인 ｢村家救急方｣에 대한 고찰에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 ｢村家救急方｣의 저자인 조선중기 문신 金正國의 생애와 사상, ｢村家救急方｣의 편찬배경 을 통하여 ｢촌가구급방｣이 조선 중기 민간 의서로서의 의의와 중요성을 살펴보았다. 그리 고 ｢村家救急方｣의 병증에 따른 인용문헌을 살펴 본 후, 조선중기의 대표적 전문의서인 ｢東醫寶鑑｣의 인용문헌과 비교하여 ｢村家救急方｣이 갖는 민간의서의 특징과 의의를 고 찰하였다.
