Information services for rare old books based on oriental thoughts are rather unfamiliar to general librarians who did not specialize in this field, and even to those librarians specializing in rare olde books, subject searches and classification are somewhat a burden. In this research, investigated are the issues in order to help lessen the burden of librarians and improve the understanding and use of old documents by researchers in the fields of Oriental Studies and Koreanology. Since the themes of Joungseo-Ryu are very complicated among all those subject divisions in the catalogues of old documents, it seems important to understand its contents from the modern viewpoint. Therefore, this research aims to help librarians perform better subject searches and classification as well as researchers use more actively old documents by reviewing the development and changes in the subject subdivisions of Joungseo-Ryu and analyzing the origins and contents of various topics in this subject.

東洋 思想을 바탕으로 한 古文獻에 대한 정보봉사에 있어 이를 전공한 司書 외에 일반 사서들에게는 다소 생소함은 물론 특히 專門 사서들의 고문헌에 대한 主題 檢索 및 分類 등에 있어 부담스러움이 있을 수 있다. 이들에 대한 부담감을 덜고, 더 나아가 東洋學 및 韓國學 연구자들의 古文獻 이용의 원활함과 기본적인 이해를 위하여 본 논문은 이들 주제들에 대하여 연구 한 것이다. 많은 문헌들을 담은 고문헌 목록에 세부 類目들이 많으 나 그 중 政書類의 주제가 복잡하기 때문에 우선 이들 각 주제에 대한 내용들의 현대적 해석이 가장 우선 되어야 한다고 본다. 그러므로 본 연구는 고문헌의 歷代 目錄에서의 政書類의 발달 과정과 변화한 類目들을 살피고 각 細分 주제에 대하여 그 由來와 內容에 대하여 구체적으로 실례를 들어 分析하므로서 전문사서들의 고문헌에 대한 주제별 정보 봉사 및 분류 뿐 아니라 전공자들의 활발한 이용을 돕고자 한다.
