The author got a clue in the survey process of books which Ow-Un, the book editor lived in the middle period of Chosun Dynasty, directly and indirectly participated in editing. The purpose of this paper is to prove the main role Ow-Un showed through the process of transmitting and editing the Hamjuji- the first private Korean Geographic book. Finally, in this paper, I present the editing of that book and Ow-Un's role in the process of transmitting the Hamjuji and intend to emphasize the editor Ow_Un.

본고는 조선조 중기의 중요한 도서편찬자인 吳澐(1540-1617)이 직접적으로 편찬한 도서나 간접적으로 편찬에 참여한 도서를 고찰하는 과정에서 착안한 것으로 한국 최초의 私撰邑誌인 ｢咸州志｣의 편찬과 전래 과정에서 吳澐이 주도적인 역할을 담당하였 음을 입증하는 것에 그 목적이 있다. 따라서 본고에서는 ｢함주지｣의 편찬과 지금까지 전하게 된 과정에 있어서 오운의 역할을 밝히고자 하였다. 이와 같은 작업은 궁극적으로 오운이라는 도서편찬자의 업 적을 다시 한 번 알리는데 그 의의가 있을 것이다.
