The primary concern of this research is to examine the effect of participation of elementary school students in their sports club on emotional intelligence and valuation. The subject of this research is three hundred of elementary school students in G city and B city in Gyunggido. These students were sampled by stratified random sampling. The survey data collected by emotional intelligence test strips for adolescent and valuation test strips for sports situation was analyzed by one-way ANOVA, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and reliability analysis, and standard multiple regression analysis. SPSS PC 15.0+ was used for this analysis. This research resulted in three major conclusions. First, there were partially meaningful differences between emotional intelligence and valuation by demographic factors. Second, there were partially meaningful differences between emotional intelligence and valuation by the participation and type in sports club. Third, there was not significant relationship between emotional intelligence and validation.

본 연구는 본 연구는 초등학생의 스포츠클럽 참여가 정서지능과 가치판단에 미치는 영향을 실증적으로 구명하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 초등학생 300명을 대상으로 청소년용 정서지능 검사지와 스포츠상황에 대한 가치 판단 설문지를 수정․보완하여 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS PC 15.0+ 프로그램을 이용하여 기술통계와 탐색적 요인분석, 확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, t-검증(independent t-test), 일원변량분석(one-way ANOVA), 표준중다회귀분석(standard multipul regression analysis)을 실시하였다. 첫째, 초등학생의 인구통계학적 변인에 따라 정서지능과 가치판단에는 부분적으로 유의한 차이가 있다. 정서지능과 가치판단은 성별에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 초등학생의 스포츠클럽 참여 유무와 종목의 특성에 따른 정서지능은 정서표현과 감정이입의 측면에서 유의미한 차이가 나타났고, 스포츠클럽 참여 유무와 종목의 특성에 따른 가치판단은 도덕적 가치판단의 측면에서 유의미한 차이를 나타냈다. 셋째, 초등학생의 정서지능은 전반적으로 가치판단에 미치는 영향은 거의 없었다. 그럼에도 불구하고 정서지능의 하위영역인 감정이입은 사회적․도덕적 가치판단에 유의한 영향력을 나타냈다.
