Numerical simulation has been carried out to analyze seawater flow characteristics for tidal current power generation turbine with shroud geometry variation. Seawater flow field near the turbine is largely affected by the shroud geometry variation, and its design is critical for efficient tidal current power generation system. Fluid velocity around the turbine is high close to the tip of shrouded turbine blade. Seawater flow velocity around the turbine could be increased with the installation of shroud. Wake flow in the rear-side of shrouded turbine gradually decelerates with the diffuser angle of shroud, Orad ≤ Θ2 ≤ 0.201rad. The results from this study could be applicable for optimal design of tidal current power generation system.
