This study aims to identify these factors for initiation of sexual intercourse before age 16 years on the basis of several important theoretical arguments explaining adolescents delinquency and problem behaviors. Furthermore, it attempts to examine whether correlates of early sexual intercourse of female adolescents are similar to the factors predicting delinquency as the prior studies found. Using a sample of 251 delinquent girls under probation, this study conducted a series of multivariate logistic analyses to explore the risk and protective factors of early onset of females adolescents. Results support the two hypotheses of this study indicating that the known correlates identified from previous studies are also related with the early onset of Korean female adolescents' sexual intercourse before age 16 years old. It also found that factors associated with delinquency also influence the early intercourse among South Korean female adolescents. Implications of the study findings for future research and policy and limitations of the research are discussed.

이 연구는 여성 청소년들이 만 16세 이전에 경험하는 이른 성행위에 영향을 미치는 상관요인들에 대해 탐색적 으로 분석하고자 한다. 보다 구체적으로 여성 청소년들의 이른 성경험에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 국외의 선행 연구들에서 보고된 청소년들의 비행의 요인들과 유사한지를 분석하고, 비행 자체가 여성 청소년들의 이른 시 기의 성적행위의 관여에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인의 하나인지 여부를 분석하고자한다. 이와 같은 연구목적을 가지고 본 논문은 소년보호처분(보호관찰, 민간복지시설위탁, 소년원수용 등)을 받은 경험이 있는 “비행”청소년 251명에 대한 2차 자료를 사용하여 여성 청소년들의 이른 성경험의 위험요인과 보 호요인 등을 근거로 다섯 단계의 로지스틱회귀분석 연구분석모델을 설계하여 분석을 수행하였다. 분석결과 국외의 선행연구와 이론에서 주장하는 주요 비행관련 요인들이 국내의 여성 비행청소년들의 만 16 세 이전의 성경험과 관련된 상관요인들과 유사한 것을 발견할 수 있었다. 연구결과가 가지는 의미, 제한점, 그 리고 공헌점 등에 대해서는 논의부분에서 언급되어있다.
