The Purpose of this study is to analgize students’perception and demand on school sex-education regarding importance of student-centered school sex-education. The purpose of school sex-education is formation of the students’right sexual values and happy life as a part of whole-person education. So school sex-education is expanded gradually but students’satisfaction have row as ever. A failure for reflecting students’demand and level is being blamed for that reason. So, a survey was used and subjects of the study was elementary school students, middle school students and high school students, total 46,621. As a result of data analysis, the differences among students are found about the perception and demand of school sex-education. The conclusions are as follows: First, contents for students’proper sexual values should be increase in school sex-education. Second, school sex-education content should be reflect the will of students and school sex-education method should be to change various dynamic ways. Third, sex-education in high school need to reinforce than now. Forth, It should be supply support and effort for teachers’ability as sex-education consultant. Fifth, School should be change to open atmosphere which is free about sex- discussion and observe students’perception change according to social change.

본 연구는 학생중심 학교성교육의 필요성에 주목하여 학생들의 학교성교육에 대한 인식 및 요구를 비교, 분석하였다. 학교성교육은 학생들의 건전한 성가치관 형성과 행복한 삶을 위한 전인교육으로, 학교의 역할이 확대되어 왔으나 학생들의 만족도는 여전히 낮은 것으로 나타나고 있다. 그 주요요인으로 학생들의 수준 및 요구를 반영하지 못한 것으로 나타나 학생 중심 학교성교육으로의 변화가 요구된다. 설문결과 학생들의 성에 대한 인식, 학교성교육에 대한 인식 및 요구가 학교급별, 성별, 학교유형별로 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과 효과적인 학교성교육을 위해 다음 결론을 제시하였다. 첫째, 학교성교육의 방향은 학생들의 건전한 성가치관 형성을 중심으로 이를 위한 관련내용을 확대할 필요가 있다. 둘째, 학교성교육 내용은 학생들의 요구를 수렴하여 구성, 제공하고 학교성교육 방법은 학생들의 흥미를 유발할 수 있도록 개선되어야 한다. 셋째, 고등학교에서의 성교육을 현재보다 강화할 필요가 있다. 넷째, 성교육담당자이자 성문제상담자로서 교사의 역할을 향상하기 위한 지원과 노력이 필요하다. 다섯째, 학교에서 성담론이 보다 자유롭게 이루어질 수 있도록 학교분위기가 개방적으로 변모되고 사회변화 및 학생들의 인식변화를 반영해야 한다.
