This thesis is a foundation research for an in-depth study for Chantong qi kaoyi (參同契考異) of Zhu Xi and aims to examine the publication and structure of Chantong qi kaoyi. Zhu Xi was already interested in Zhouyi cantong qi (周易參同契) by 1186, his 57 years of age. He started to write Chantong qi kaoyi through a cooperation with Cai Yuanding (蔡元定) in 1196 and made Cai Yuan ( 蔡淵) publish the first version of Chantong qi kaoyi between end of 1197 and beginning of 1198. He published the formal edition of Chantong qi kaoyi in the spring of 1199 through an amending work with Cai Yuan. The edition of Cai Yuan does not pass on these days, and the current edition is the edition of Huang Ruijie (黃瑞節) on Yuan (元) dynasty, which is a little bit different with the edition of Cai Yuan. Chantong qi kaoyi was made by the comparative study with other Zhouyi cantong qi editions on the basis of Cantong qi fenzhang tong zhenyi (參同契分章通眞義) of Peng Xiao (彭曉). The structure of Chantong qi kaoyi is generally similar with the other editions of Zhouyi cantong qi.
