In this study, practical dance major students cognition in modern dance awareness and self-confidence, and to investigate the relationship between performance in Seoul and practical dance in two major art school which is opened by selecting a random survey of 178 people conducted on the results the following conclusions were derived. The results were as follows. First, 46.6% were participated in modern dance class during less than 6 month, and 37.1% of them were participated during above 6 month below 2 years, and, the most participation frequency was once a week and two hours at a time. Second, self- confidence, and major capability of practical dance majors according to the personal characteristics, the third graders had higher flow, pride, performance achievement, and performance concentration than the first, and, K-pop dance showed higher flow and pride than hiphop dance, and jazz dance showed higher cognition in physical ability improvement than hiphop dance, and the other dances had higher self-confidence of ability proof than hiphop dance and had higher self-confidence of major capability than k-pop dance. Third, performance concentration was higher, and, physical ability improvement was higher, then performance concentration was lower. Fourth, relationships among cognition in modern dance were higher, then self confidence was higher. Fifth, there were causal relationships among cognition in modern dance, self-confidence, and major capability of practical dance majors.

이 연구에서는 실용무용 전공학생의 현대무용 인식과 자신감 및 전공수행능력의 관계를 규명하기 2개의 예술 고 등학교를 임의 선정하여 178명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다. 첫째, 46.6% 가 현대무용 교육에 참여한 경험이 6개월 이하이며 수업 빈도는 주1회 2시간이 가장 많다. 둘째, 학년이 높을수 록 현대무용인식과 전공수행능력이 높고 방송댄스와 재즈댄스가 힙합보다 자신감과 전공수행능력이 높다. 셋째, 몰입과 자부심, 실기능력향상의 인식이 높을수록 수행집중이 높고 신체능력향상이 높을수록 수행집중이 낮은 것 으로 나타났다. 넷째, 현대무용인식이 높을수록 자신감이 높다. 다섯째, 실용무용 전공학생의 현대무용인식과 자 신감 및 전공수행능력 간에는 인과적 관계가 있는 것으로 나타났다.
