The purpose of this study is to inquiry into strategies of moral education for cultivating of reasonableness. Since the 7th moral curriculum, the theoretical base of moral education is Aristotle's virtue ethics. A virtue that need to life of mean is phronesis. So moral education as a subject matter have to focus on cultivating of phronesis. But a existing moral education falls short of raising phronesis. Because existing moral education is interested in the abstract and universal understanding of moral norm. phronesis is intellectual excellence deciding cause of acting and takes a serious view of context. In this point, moral education in elementary school requires strategies of moral education for cultivating of phronesis. In this respect, this study takes notice of concept of reasonableness. The concept of reasonableness is that succeeded developmentally to the comcept of Aristotle's phronesis by Lipman and Sproad etc. This study was to look for complementary strategies of moral education based on context and situation.

본 연구의 목적은 초등 도덕과 교육에서 합당성 함양을 위한 도덕 교육적 전략을 탐색하는 것이다. 제7차 도덕과 교육과정 이후의 도덕과 교육의 이론적 토대는 아리스토텔레스의 덕 윤리학이다. 도덕적 덕을 위해 요구되는 것이 실천적 지혜이다. 따라서 도덕과 교육은 실천 적 지혜를 함양하는데 관심을 둔다. 그러나 기존의 도덕과 교육은 실천적 지혜를 기르는 데 에는 부족한 측면이 있다. 왜냐하면 기존의 도덕과 교육은 여전히 덕목에 대한 추상적이고 보편적 이해에 관심을 두고 있기 때문이다. 실천적 지혜는 행위의 원인을 결정하는 지적 탁 월성으로서, 이는 상황과 맥락을 중시한다. 따라서 초등 도덕과 교육은 도덕 규범에 대한 보 편적 이해를 토대로 개별 사태에 대한 상황과 맥락이 고려되는 도덕 교육적 전략이 필요하 다. 이러한 관점에서, 본고에서는 아리스토텔레스의 실천적 지혜를 다차원적 실천적 지혜로 발전적으로 계승한 립맨(M. Lipman)이나 스프로드(T. Sproad) 등의 합당성 개념에 주목하고, 이를 토대로 상황과 맥락이 고려되는 보완적 도덕 교육적 전략을 모색하였다.
