From mild disability to the last Dutch act, Zhang Lv using unique imaging techniques exhibited an alienated and repressed image of the male subaltern. The movie “Zhongjing” and “Wolf” are two related works, concentrates on women image of subaltern. The two works also reflects the dual identity and dual language the director. “Realm” reveals the abandoned Diaspora life of a mother and his son who come across from North Korea. The film “Tumen River” reflects the dangerous and different reaction from the children that exposed to unwilling political and cultural social environment. Tumen River has witnessed the long history of the nation. The film reflects the groan of Tumen River towards depressing reality of Diaspora. “Dying” is about the daily life and the tragic ending of the Korean woman Shunji who makes her life by selling Kim-chi. “Dying” exhibited how terrorism and dead corner drove the kind to destruction from the view of Diaspora. Zhang Lv’s films show us different social backgrounds. At the same time, we can see the special cultural phenomenon of South Korea China in his movies.

영화 <당시>는 경미의 불구에서 자살의 결말에 이르기까지 남성적 서발턴의 소외되고 억압된 모습을 장률의 나름대로의 영상기법에 의해 잘 구사해내고 있다. 언어와 소통의 문제를다룬 두 편의 도시 연작 <중경>과 < 이리>는 보다 집중적으로 여성적 서발턴의 형상을 보여주고 있다. 두 영화에는 감독의 이중신분과 이중 언어 의 문제가 놓여있기도 하다. <경계>는두 탈북모자이의 그대로 내동댕이쳐진 디아스포라의 삶을 보여준다. < 두만강>에서는 사회적인 환경이 강요한 정치, 문화가 아이들로 하여금 매우 위태롭고 이질적인 반응을 보이 게 한다. 이 영화는 민족의 오랜 역사와 현실을 함께 보여주는 <두만강>이 통째로 디아스포라를 억압하는 현실적인 삶 에 의해 곪아가고 있음을 은유한다 하겠다. <망종>은 김치를 팔아 생계를유지하는 조선족 여성 순희의 일상 과 파국을 다룬 작품이다. <망종>은 테러리즘 앞에서 원초적인 때묻지 않은 심성을 가진 인간이 어떻게 막다 른 골목에 처하게 되고 무너지게 되는가를디아스포라의 관점에서 잘 보여주고 있다. 장률의 영화는 여러모로 되는 다양한 사회적인 상황을 배경으로 하겠지만 중국과 한국의 특수한 사회문화적인 상황 속에서 나타난 하 나의 문화적인 현상이기도 하다.
