Kim Satgat is a unique poet in late Chosen dynasty. He occupies a certain position at Korea's classical literature with his distinctive life experience and exotic poetry creation. Kim Satgat’s poetry showed the forceful orthodox opposition tendency and distinct civilian consciousness in content, and artistically showed the pungent satire. So it is widely distributed in the public. This paper aims to examine the research status of North Korea academic on KimSatgat and his literature, mainly discussed the North Korean scholars how to evaluate Kim Satgat’s life experience and his ideological trend, views and opinions about Kim Satgat’s poetry and his position in literary history, as well as the status about Kim Satgat related books publication in North Korea.

김삿갓은 조선조 후기에 전기적인 인생을 살았던 특이한 시인이다. 그는 남다른 인생체험과 독특한 시세계를 통해 민족시가발전사에서 두드러진 한 자리를 차지하고 있다. 김삿갓의시는 그 평민적이며 반정통적인 시적 내용과 기발하고 파격적인 작시기교로 하여 민중들속에서 민요처럼 널리 전해지고 애송되었다. 본고에서는 김삿갓과 그 시문학에 대한 북한학계의 연구실태를 고찰하면서 그것을 김삿갓의 인생행적과 사상적 성향에 관한 연구, 김삿갓의시문학과 그 문학사적 지위에 대한 평가, 김삿갓 관련 도서의 출판 상황 등으로 나누어 살펴보았다.
