The purpose of this study is to suggest some alternatives for activating the transportationsystem between Busan new port and north port. First of all, in order to achieve such apurpose, status and problem factors for activation through literature survey and previousstudies are analyzed. After that, advantages and disadvantages analysis are carried out. Alsoeconomic analysis based on the social cost of transportation are performed. Main findings are suggested as followings. First, Maritime and Rail transport is moreadvantageous than road transport in terms of social costs. Therefore, reduce the rate of roadtransport and maritime, and rail transport should be increase. Second, To activate the maritimetransport, accrete the number and size of vessels and requires the adjustment of turn-round ofthe vessels. Third, To activate the Rail transport, consider the construction of bypass route.
