The purpose of this study is to clarify Habermas's theories on communicative rationality and to find liberating rationality's implication through discuss's moral educational practice. The results can be summarized as follows : Fist, the meaning and orientation of communicative praxis in Habermas was clarified. Its orientation is the liberating rationalization of life-world, and the development of communicativeability. This communicative rationality's theory of Habermas has liberating rationality's strength compared to the other Marxism and postmodernism through hermeneutical perspective and communicative action theory. Second, the characteristics and aims of communicative praxis in educational practice were discussed. It implies equally interactive education of teachers and students, and the process of real educational rationality. Also, it implies the intrinsic aims of education pursuing intersubjective understanding and the liberating rationality of responsible action-agent. Finally, it was argued that Habermas'communitive teaching/learning could be the model of educational development in the view of the normalization communication and liberating rationality in classroom. Reflective, rationalitical and liberating teaching/learning is possible under the recognition of ideal speech situation in the discursive classroom.

본 연구는 비판이론의 전통에 선 하버마스가 강조한 해방적 합리성으로서의 의사소통적 합리성이 어떻게 도덕·정치교육으로 적용될 수 있는가를 살펴보았다. 해석학적 관점과 의사소통행위이론을 통해서 왜곡된 의사소통을 넘어서려는 하버마스의 관점이 마르크스주의의 해방적 관심을 계승하면 서도 해방적 합리성을 위한 성찰을 제공해 주는 지를 살펴보았다. 또한 의사소통적 합리성과 토론 의 과정을 통해 문제를 자유롭게 논의되고, 그 논의의 결과가 사회적 정당성과 타당성을 획득하는 사회가 바로 '의사소통적 합리성'이 터잡은 사회이며, 이런 의사소통적 합리성이 해방적 합리성에 도 기여할 수 있다는 하버마스의 관점은 다른 마크스주의적 입장들과 포스트모던 교육론의 입장들 과 비교해서 보다 합리성을 고양하는 해방적 실천에 있어서 강점이 있음을 살펴보았다. 억압 없 고 해방된 사회를 위해 이상적인 언어모델에 주목하고 일상의 언어생활 속에서 인류의 해방을 위 한 열쇠를 발견한 그의 이론은 도덕교육에도 의미있는 시사점을 가지는데, 합리성을 단순한 논리 적 사고가 아닌 사람들 사이의 대화와 토론에서 찾는 그의 관점은 ‘의사소통의 합리성’을 통한 해 방적 합리성의 교육적 비전을 의미있게 제시한다고 보여진다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 해방적 합리 성을 지향하는 의사소통적 교육실천관, 의사소통적 교수학습관이 어떤 차원에서 의미를 가질 수 있는지를 제시해 보았다.
