This study was carried out to examine the impact of music therapy programs revolving around instrumental ensembles on the peer relationship skills of children attending a local children's center. The research was done on the children of a children's center located in D Gu in Daejeon City. The research methods are as follows. 14 children who scored below 60 on a peer relationship skills scale were selected first, and 7 of whom were placed in an experimental group, and the remaining 7 were assigned to a control group. A music therapy program of this study was conducted 3times a week, lasting 50 minutes per session, totalling 12 times. A pre-test and post-test were conducted using a peer relationship skills scale and a revised social skills rating scale(for teachers). To examine the impact of the music therapy program, the Mann-Whitney U test and Wilcoxon's signed- rank test were used to analyze the collected data. The research finding is as follows. The experimental group, where a music therapy program revolving around instrumental ensembles was conducted, showed higher scores on the peer relationship skills scale and social skills rating scale than the control group without the program, showing statistically significant differences. Such finding demonstrates that music therapy programs revolving around instrumental ensembles have a positive impact on improving the peer relationship skills of local children's center children. The finding also demonstrates the effectiveness of the programs as a psychological support tool for improving social skills.

본 연구는 기악합주활동 중심의 음악치료 프로그램이 지역아동센터 아동의 또래 관계 기술에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 실시되었다. 본 연구대상은 대전시 D구에 위치한 지역아동센터의 아동으로 또래 관계 기술 척도 점수가 60점 이하인 아동 14명을 일차 선별 후 각각 실험집단 7명, 통제집단 7명으로 구성하였다. 본 프로그램은 주 3회, 50분씩 총 12회기로 진행되었으며, 또래 관계 기술 척도와 수정된 사회적 기술 평정 척도(교사용)를 사용하여 사전ㆍ사후 검사를 실시하였다. 기악합주활동 중심의 음악치료 프로그램에 대한 효과를 검증하기 위해 Mann Whitney U 검정과 Wilcoxon의 부호 순위 검정을 시행하여 자료를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 기악합주활동 중심의 음악치료 프로그램을 실시한 실험집단이 프로그램을 실시하지 않은 통제집단에 비해 또래 관계 기술 점수와 사회적 기술 평정척도의 점수가 증가하여 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 기악합주활동 중심의 음악치료 프로그램이 지역아동센터 아동의 또래 관계 기술 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 주었음은 물론, 사회적인 영역의 향상을 위한 심리적 지원 도구로서의 효과성을 입증하였다.
