Little is known about the interdisciplinary approach and views in the korean parole system theory including its concepts and the probation which results from it before the year 2012 for a long time based on the path-dependence approach. The existing studies of the korean parole system and the korean probation theory based on it have concerned with single learning approach law studies; public administration studies, correctional science. But, what must not be forgotten is that correctional science inclusive of the parole theory and probation theory must have the interdisciplinary aspects. We can say with fair certainty that correctional science is not a social science but a synthesis applied science. Therefore, in this study, after the analysis of the exisitng studies problems viewed in the interdisciplinary light- for example ; psychology, administration science, correctional ideology, correctional economy, social science and so forth- I discuss the desirable approach in view of the synthesis applied science about the parole and probation. Finally, we must draw attention to the open adoption of the interdisciplinary views and approach inclusive of the correctional social welfare ideology in the korean parole system and the korean probation system which has dominated for a long time with path-dependence theory related with in the historical institutionalism approach in the social welfare science.

가석방과 보호관찰제도에 관한 2012년 이전까지의 논문에서 학제적 접근에 관한 논문은 거의 없었다. 가석방 등에 관한 기존의 논문과 연구들은 거의 단일학문적으로 행정학, 법학, 교정학 등 접근해 왔지만 가석방 등에 관한 교정학 이론은 사회과학이 아닌 종합응용과학이며 학제적 성격을 가지고 있다는 것을 명심해야 한다. 바로 이점에서 이 논문의 존재이유가 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가석방 등에 관한 기존 논문을 복지학, 심리학, 사회학, 경제학, 철학 등 학제적 관점에서 독창적으로 비판한 다음에 바람직한 학제적 관점에서 나아갈 방향을 언급하였다. 결론적으로 오랫동안 한국교정복지에 관련된 경로의존적 방식의 단일학문적 접근방식대신에 학제적 관점에서 가석방과 보호관찰의 문제점들을 완전 독창적으로 주장하였다.
