Recently, as facing new restoration period, various genre and story of Korean movies have been plannedand developed. Also, many kinds of storytelling have been created by making new characters. This projecthas a purpose which is analyzing the structure of efficient storytelling on movies as taking theoreticalapproach to characterstorytelling. Therefore, in which case, it may necessary that analyzing storytelling ofmen and women characters thru Korean movies, “Friend” and “Sunny” received favorable comment frommany reviewers. Both movies have similarity that they focus on main characters having stories of theirperiodic background and hard bonded friendship thru their lives. However, they are good examples ofcomparing characterstorytelling by dividing their genders since those movies have a huge difference betweenconflicts of characters and the structure of story-development. The kind of difference is expected to createmuch higher quallity structure of story telling through comparsion study of it, in that various kind ofproloques are applied by the character’s story.

최근 한국 영화의 새로운 중흥기를 맞으면서 다양한 장르와 스토리의 영화들이 기획, 제작되고 있다. 또새로운 캐릭터에 의해 다양한 스토리텔링이 개발되고 있다. 본 연구는 캐릭터스토리텔링을 이론적 배경으로 하여 남성과 여성 캐릭터 중심의 스토리텔링 구성요소를 비교함으로써 영화의 효율적인 스토리텔링의구조를 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 그 연구방법으로 한국 영화 중에서도 흥행과 평단의 호평을 받은<친구>와 <써니> 두 영화의 비교를 통해 남성과 여성의 캐릭터 스토리텔링의 구조를 파악하려 한다. 두영화는 주인공들의 시대적 배경과 친구들 사이의 우정을 담은 스토리가 영화의 큰 사건을 이룬다는 데에공통점을 가지고 있지만 성별의 구분에 의해 주인공의 결핍과 갈등, 스토리의 전개구조에서 확연한 차이를 나타내고 있다. 이와 같은 차이는 캐릭터의 스토리에 따라 다양한 서사형식이 적용된다는 점에서 캐릭터스토리텔링의 비교 연구를 통해 보다 완성도 높은 스토리텔링 구조를 만들 수 있을 것을 기대한다.
