The popularization of smart-phones means Industrial applications of the voice call is switched. The role of asmart-phone App smart-phone helps enable easy and effectively provide the desired information in order toincrease efficiency in the form of icons being provided smart-phone. App icon, rather than a simple functionto perform to meet the user's needs, the application's identity represent an important tool, and a keycomponent of the user interface. In this study, symbol combination type and text matching type and wereclassified into concept symbol combination type with abstract symbol combination type in detail the icon ofthe App which described visual memory and the characteristics of the smart-phone App icon. Throughempirical research help message-passing model is characterized by concrete symbol of what can be seenis the highest. 스마트폰의 대중화는 통신 산업이 음성 통화에서 어플리케이션 산업으로의 전환을 의미한다고 할 수 있다. 스마트폰에 있어 App은 스마트폰을 쉽게 사용할 수 있도록 도와주는 역할을 하며 사용자에게 원하는정보를 효과적으로 제공하고 효율성을 증대하기 위해 아이콘의 형태로 스마트폰에 제공되고 있다. App 아이콘은 스마트폰에 있어 단순한 기능의 수행보다는 사용자의 니즈를 충족하고 애플리케이션의 정체성을표현하는 중요한 도구이며 사용자 인터페이스의 주요 구성 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 스마트폰 App 아이콘의 특성과 시각 기억에 대해 알아보았으며 App 아이콘을 텍스트 조합형과 심벌 조합형 그리고 세부적으로는 추상 심벌 조합형과 구상 심벌 조합형으로 분류하였다. 실증 조사를 통해 구상 심벌형이 기억도와메시지 전달의 인지가 가장 높음을 알 수 있다. 또 시각적 차원과 의미 전달 차원의 회귀분석을 통해 시각적 차원에서는 가시성과 주시성, 그리고 기억성이 유의미한 것으로, 의미 전달 차원에서는 정확성과 직관성, 그리고 상관성이 유의미한 것으로 나타났다.
