This study investigated the meaning and role of the webquest in the same academic context related to self-directed learning(SDL) and problem-based learning(PBL) in constructivism learning theory and overviewed the prior researches on the theoretical background of constructivism and cognitive psychology. First, it is explained how the webquest is related to cognitive learning theory and tried to explain how the webquest is applied to the architectural education, specially to the lecture on environmental-friendly design(passive design in germany). The lecture to be researched is composed of 3 credits for second semester of the third grade. The lecture was distributed with 4 groups, which individually composed of 4 or 5 students. For the lecture the problems, which are working as a teaching-learning program, had to developed very carefully. This study could be earned the important results, which suggested that webquests are developmental processes, that the self aspect is crucial. It is concluded that conceptual clarity of what the webquest entails and guidance for both teachers and students can help the webquest to bring forth self-directed learners.

본 논문에서는 교수-학습에 관한 이론(웹퀘스트)을 구성주의 학습이론에 근거해 저자가 실제 3학년 2학기 교과목 ‘친환경건축설계’에서 진행하고 있는 수업모델에 적용하였다. 특히 구성주의 교육의 주 요 학습 개념들인 ‘학습자 중심교육’, ‘통합교육’, ‘협력학습’, ‘과정중심, 활동중심교육’, ‘자기 주도적 학습 강조’들의 수업 적용가능성에 대해서도 논의하였다. 또한 친환경건축수업과 관련한 웹퀘스트제 작을 통해 구성주의에 기초한 자기주도 학습이론이 어떠한 과정으로 구성될 수 있는지를 제시하고자 했다. 학습은 객관적인 내용뿐만 아니라 학습자가 주관적으로 중요하게 간주하는 내용들도 함께 다 루어진다. 그룹별 토론과정은 자기주도 학습, 프로젝트 학습 및 행위중심 학습에 중요한 전제가 되므 로 실제 수업에서 핵심적 과정으로 간주한다. 본 수업에서는 결과물뿐만 아니라 일련의 수업진행과 정이 학습의 주요과정으로 설정되었다. 새로운 지식은 이미 저장된 지식과의 상호작용을 통해 새롭 게 구성됨을 전제로 한다. 따라서 저자는 수업에서 객관적 지식(what)뿐만 아니라, 과정에서의 중요 성(how)을 강조한다. 학생들은 친환경건축 수업에서 특정 영역(예: Passive Design)을 습득함에 있 어 친환경과 관련된 전문핵심용어나 과학적 기초원리(예: 베르누이효과 Venturi Effect, 굴뚝효과 Stack Effect, 대류현상 Convection 등) 및 독일의 패시브디자인뿐만 아니라, 이와 연관되는 일련의 사례/프로젝트(계획안)들을 자기주도로 찾아내어 학습주제를 구체화하는 능력을 습득하게 된다.
