The paper discusses about the street artist, Banksy's unconsciousness internalized into the documentary, filmed by himself rather than the external subject matter of criticism of contradictory art world. The film included in performative documentary is the substantial archive for this study in terms of two aspects, both the referential footage to the real world and the subjective intervention of a director that performative mode features. Firstly, it studies the reason why the structure of the film is unbalanced analysing the divided subject and then transfer of the point of views, and the way that voice-over narration and interview function to reveal his desire. Based on the empirical result, it investigates what Banksy known as a subversive artist fears and struggles to conceal by probing his trauma and traumatic event that is the cause of his unconscious conflict through the film. In addition to looking into the historical meanings related to his performance and work in the film, this paper studies how his fantasy sutures his own crack to complete his ideal identity. The psychoanalytic approach to find out how his resistance to the system is situated in the historical world is expected to be the meaningful point that is devoted with the different way from the advanced researches about Banksy.

이 연구는 스트리트 아티스트 뱅크시가 제작한 다큐멘터리 <선물가게를 지 나야 출구>를 통해 부조리한 미술계 비판이라는 표면적 주제가 아닌 이 영 화의 중핵을 둘러싸고 있는 뱅크시의 무의식에 관해 논하고자 한다. 수행적 다큐멘터리의 범주에 속해 있는 이 영화는 다큐멘터리로서의 현실 지시적 특징과 수행적 양식이 갖는 제작 주체의 주관적 개입이 맞물리면서 구체적 근거와 더불어 뱅크시의 내면 연구를 가능하게 하는 중요한 아카이브가 된 다. 우선 수행적 양식으로서 발화 주체의 분산과 시점의 이동을 분석하여 이 영화의 구조적 불균형의 원인을 살펴보고, 보이스오버 내레이션과 인터 뷰 형식이 어떻게 그의 욕망이 드러나도록 구성되었는지 분석한다. 이러한 구체적인 논거를 토대로 저항적 아티스트로 알려져 있는 뱅크시가 이 영화 를 통해 무의식적으로 드러내는 갈등의 원인, 즉 외상과 외상적 사건을 분 석함으로써 그가 무엇을 두려워하며 은폐하고자 하는지 살펴볼 것이다. 아 울러 영화상에 등장한 사건들의 역사적 의미들을 함께 보면서 그가 자신의 이상적인 정체성 구축을 위해 어떠한 환상으로 자신의 균열을 봉합하고 있 는지 분석한다. 이러한 정신분석적 접근은 대표적인 체제 비판적인 예술가 로써 뱅크시의 저항이 역사세계에 어떠한 위치에 놓여있으며 어떤 의미를 갖고 있는지에 관해 기존 뱅크시 연구와는 다른 방식으로 고찰할 수 있는 지점이 될 것이다.
