In this paper, I analyzed essays on landscapes written by Oh Won. He had lived during the King Youngjo era, in the late Chosun dynasty. While he inherited the tradition of former writers, he tried to show his originality through writing essays on landscapes. Among his 14 essays, I took special note of an article named Diary after travelling Keumkang mountain(遊楓嶽日記). He wrote it just after the expiration of the period of mourning. Because the creation background was unique, and the view of landscape sightseeing was also individual. Researches on essays on landscapes are leaning on the side of literary sketches. Though we can catch the literary value and unusual view from it, we cannot reconstitute the literary aspects in its entirety if we don't concentrate concerns about general writing style. For this reason, I analyzed Oh Won's essays on landscapes as it represent such style. I hope this would help explain the aspects of writing style in the period of late Chosun.

이 논문은 조선후기 영조 시기에 활동한 문인인 吳瑗의 산수유기를 분석한 것이다. 오원은 고문을 전범으 로 하여 창작된 이전 시기까지의 산수유기 창작 전통을 계승하였지만, 그 범주 안에서 나름대로의 문학적 개성을 발휘하였다. 오원은 14편의 산수유기를 남겼는데, 본 논문에서는 그 가운데 아버지의 脫喪 직후 금강산을 유람한 뒤에 지은 ｢遊楓嶽日記｣를 중심에 두고 분석을 진행하였다. 작품의 창작 배경이 독특하 고, 이 작품을 통해 확인할 수 있는 작가의 산수유람 의식과 산수묘사 방식이 남다르기 때문이다. 조선후기 산수유기에 대한 최근의 연구는 주로 18세기 이후 성행한 小品體 遊記에 집중되어 있다. 물론 이 시기에 창작된 소품체 유기로부터 독특한 시선과 문학적 성취를 찾을 수 있음은 분명하다. 그러나 전 대의 창작 전통을 발전적으로 계승한 일련의 작품들에 대한 연구가 병행되지 않으면 당대 산수유기의 창 작 양상을 온전한 모습으로 재구하기 어렵다. 이와 같은 이유에서 본 논문에서는 오원의 산수유기를 후자 의 대표적인 작품으로 상정하고 분석을 진행하였다. 이를 통해 다채로운 모습으로 발전하였던 18세기 이 후 산수유기 창작 양상을 구체적으로 해명하는데 일조하기를 기대한다.
