The goal of learning the foreign language is communicative competence of a situational practicable language, but still Korean teaching has practiced follows the Korean textbooks which are centered around grammar or structure. The purpose of this study is to work out a plan for a Korean culture lesson through Seodang's educational method based on students' learning style to help an understanding of language background. However, the opportunity for students learning the Korean language to exposed to Koreans and the Korean culture are very limited. In chapter 2, I classified the Seodang's educational method and learning style to explore the possibility of adapting it for a Korean culture lesson. In chapter 3, I explored the Korean culture education as a foreign language. In chapter 4, I experimented with Korean culture lessons through Seodang's educational method based on students' learning style. Based on the results, reached the conclusion that Korean culture lessons through Seodang's educational method based on students' learning style is a very effective way to improve students' understanding of the Korean listening and reading skills. In chapter 5, this paper intends to suggest the directions for the teaching of Korean which need to be conducted through teaching Korean culture lessons using Seodang's educational methods based on students' learning style.

우리나라는 반만년의 유구(悠久)한 역사와 자랑스러운 민족문화를 간직하고 고유(固有)한 전통문화를 키워 온 문화 선진국이며 또한 교육에서도 삼국시대부터 지금까지 뿌리 깊은 역사를 가지고 우리 고유의 학문적 전 통을 전수하고 있다. 최근 급증하는 외국인 인구에 따라 한국어에 대한 수요가 증가하여 각 지자체의 복지 시 설 및 대학등의 교육기관에서 외국인을 위한 한국어 교육이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 이러한 대세 속에 한국어 교육에 있어 언어의 기능적 역할은 물론 민족의 얼을 담고 있는 전통문화를 언어와 함께 교육 할 수 있는 방안 을 모색해야 한다. 본 논문은 이러한 방안의 기초자료를 제공하고자 학습자의 학습유형을 고려하여 전통적인 서당식 교육방법을 활용한 한국문화수업을 외국어로서의 한국어 교육에 적용해 보며 그 활용가능성을 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 2장에서는 서당의 교육방법 및 학습유형에 대해 알아보고 학습유형에 따른 서당의 교육방법의 적용가능 성을 탐색해보았다. 3장에서는 외국어로서의 한국어 교육에 있어 문화교육 현황 및 교과과정을 검토하였다. 4 장에서는 2장과 3장의 논의를 토대로 학습 유형별 서당의 교육방법을 활용하여 외국인을 위한 한국전통문화 수업을 외국인 유학생의 학습유형에 따라 활동을 달리하여 적용해보았다. 본 실험을 통하여 교재 교육만을 활 용하여 한국어를 학습한 비교집단보다 학습유형에 따라 서당의 교육방법을 활용하여 다양한 활동을 통해 한 국전통문화를 학습한 실험집단이 한국어의 기능 중 듣기와 읽기능력부분 향상에 있어 긍정적인 효과를 보이 는 결과를 도출하였다. 5장에서는 4장의 실험결과를 토대로 학습자의 학습유형에 따른 서당식 교육방법을 활 용한 외국인을 위한 한국전통문화 교육이 적극적으로 보급되어야 한다는 결론을 주장하며 다문화 속 한국전 통문화 발전의 기초자료를 제공하였다.
