The article examines how social networking service(SNS) has an impact on new media art works by focusing on situation, in which SNS is now becoming one of major daily activities and plays an important role to connect between people. Also, this writing tries to find out the characteristics of new media art as art to reflect a present digital era and correlationship bewteen net arts in the past and sns media arts in the present. The new media arts, which weaves SNS users' private narratives and connects them based on SNS users' information, presents an emotional approach like early net arts. What's more, the process to collect, sort, and re-contextualize visually SNS users' thoughts and ideas in real time presents that SNS media arts are time-specific in that the process is based on individuals' private data in a specific time. As a result, the process that SNS users' thoughts in specific times could be reinterpreted and be connected together reveals characteristic of a society in a present digital era.

이 논문은 정보통신 서비스의 발달에 따라 이제는 소셜네트워킹서비스(SNS)가 일상 생활의 하나로 자리잡 고 사람들의 삶에 주요한 위치를 점하고 있는 상황에 주목하여, SNS가 어떻게 뉴미디어 아트 작품에 어 떻게 영향을 주고 있는지 고찰하였다. 그리고 지금의 디지털 시대를 반영하는 예술로서 뉴미디어아트의 특징은 어떠한지, 그것은 과거 넷아트와 같은 미디어 아트와는 어떠한 연관성이 있는지 살펴보았다. SNS 를 이용하는 사용자들의 정보를 바탕으로 그들의 개인적인 이야기들을 엮어내고 그들을 연결해주는 미디 어 아트 작품은 초기 넷아트와 마찬가지로 감성적인 접근을 보여준다. 또한 실시간으로 SNS사용자들의 생각들을 수집, 분류, 그리고 시각적으로 재맥락화하는 과정은 특정 시간의 개인의 사적 데이터들을 바탕 으로 한다는 점에서 시간 특정적(time-specific)이다. 더 나아가 이러한 뉴미디어 아트는 그 데이터들을 바 탕으로 사회의 다양한 요소들이 맺고 있는 관계의 정체성을 밝혀냄으로써 지금 이 시대에 가능한 예술인 것이다.
