The purpose of this study was to analyse priorities of success factors and to provide local governments with success factors for holding successful golf tournaments. The questions were derived in order to achieve the purpose of study in the third round of the Delphi survey on 10 experts. After development of the questionnaire, the main survey questionnaires were administered to Gangwon Province officials, researchers and practitioners in golf associations. Through the consistency verification, total of 41 questionnaires were analysed among 50 questionnaires administered except 9 questionnaires which had lack of confidence utilizing SPSS WIN VER 15.0 and Expert Choice 2000. The result of this study were as follows: The priority of the evaluation area were affordability, adequacy, public interest and visitor satisfaction in order, respectively. Success factors were ranked higher in direct investment ratio, profitability, relevant opinion ratio, event-holding experiences, residents opinion ratio etc, and lower in the number of visitors, operating professionals, linkages with tour attractions, the degree of residents participation. In this study, data from local government officials, researchers and practitioners in golf associations in only one local governments were analysed for limitation.

이 연구의 목적은 성공적인 골프 대회의 개최를 위해 골프 대회 개최 시 성공 요인의 우선순위를 분석하고 이를 지방 자치 단체들에게 제공하는 것이다. 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 설문지는 10 명의 전문가를 상대로 세 라운드의 델파이 조사를 통해 도출한 후 실시되었다. 설문 조사는 강원도 공무원, 연구원, 그리고 골프 협회의 실무자들에 의해 작성되었다. 일관성 검증을 통해 총 50 부의 설문지 중 신뢰도가 부족한 9 부의 설문지를 제외한 41 부의 설문지가 SPSS WIN VER.15.0 및 Expert Choice 2000을 활용하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다 ​​: 평가 영역의 우선순위는 경제성, 적정성, 공익성과 방문객만족 순으로 나타났다. 성공 요인은 직접 투자 비율, 수익성, 관계자 지지율, 대회 개최 빈도, 주민 지지율 등이 높게 나타났고 ​​방문객수, 전문 인력 운영, 관광지와 연계성, 주민 참여 정도 등이 비교적 낮게 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 단 하나의 지방 정부의 공무원, 연구원, 골프 협회 실무자를 대상으로 분석하였다는 한계가 있다.
