The tone color of geomungo and gayageum which are the plucked string instruments of Korea was compared with that of acoustic guitar, the western musical instrument in this study. It was analyzed and the tone color features of the musical instrument were found and they were substituted into the color-hearing. Geomungo, gayageum and guitar, they are all plucked string instruments which are mainly charged with dark-violet and gayageum is the brightest as it has the biggest harmonics in terms of contrast, geomungo and guitar have similar brightness.

본 연구에서는 우리나라의 뜯는 현악기인 거문고와 가야금의 음색을 서양 악기인 어쿠스틱 기타 음색과 비교 하여 분석하고, 각 악기의 음색적 특징을 찾아 그것을 색청(color-hearing)에 대입해 보았다. 거문고, 가야금, 기타 모두 뜯는 현악기로 진보라(dark-violet)색을 주로 띠고 있으며, 배음들이 음량이 큰 가야금이 가장 밝은 색청을 가지고 있고, 거문고와 어쿠스틱 기타가 비슷한 밝기의 색청을 가지고 있다.
