Writing is not simply a way of expression, but the process of thinking. So to speak, writing is the result that is generated due to the interaction of thinking and expression. Thinking refers to all mental activities in the process to identify and determine the target of any organized and structured content. These comprehensive mental activity, we also referred to as a process of critical thinking. Accordingly critical Writing is said actively writing while it is understanding analyzing, and evaluating more deeply and multifacetedly dimension people's claim through enough thought. Writing as critical thinking is the center of the writing about problemsolving approach knowledge that is procedural knowledge rather than propositional knowledge, or knowledge about narrative writing. So through writing and pinpoint the problem, the ability to present the most reasonable solutions to problems can be cultured. First of all critical writing is active writing that objectively analyze and evaluate it to understand more various aspects of people's thinking claiming or feeling. And it is writing activity to perform the appropriate and reasonable information and find ways to solve the problem in such a way as to describe the process of self-evaluation and analysis of the issues raised without uncritically accept ideas and information from one person to another.

글쓰기는 단순히 의사표현의 방법이 아니라 사고의 과정이다. 말하자 면 글쓰기는 사고와 표현의 상호작용으로 인해 생성된 결과이다. 사고 란 어떤 대상을 파악하고 판단하는 과정에서 내용을 조직하고 구성하 는 모든 정신적 활동을 말한다. 우리는 이러한 종합적인 정신적 활동 을 비판적 사고의 과정이라고도 말한다. 따라서 비판적 글쓰기란 충 분한 생각을 통해 사람들의 주장을 보다 심층적이고 다각적인 차원에 서 이해하고 분석하고 평가하면서 능동적으로 글을 쓰는 것을 말한다. 비판적 사고로서의 글쓰기는 명제적 지식이나 서술적 지식에 대한 글쓰기 보다는 문제 해결 방식의 지식, 즉 절차적 지식에 대한 글쓰기가 중심이 된 다. 그래야 글쓰기를 통해 문제를 정확하게 파악하고, 가장 합리적인 문제 해결 방안을 제시하는 능력을 배양할 수 있다. 무엇보다도 비판적 글쓰기는 사람들의 생각이나 주장 또는 느낌을 보다 다양한 측면에서 이해하기 위해 그것을 객관적으로 분석하고 평가하는 능 동적인 글쓰기이다. 그리고 다른 사람으로부터 생각과 정보를 무비판적으 로 받아들이지 않고 자기 스스로 문제를 제기하고 분석하고 평가하는 과 정을 능동적으로 수행하여 적절하고 합리적인 정보나 문제 해결 방안을 찾는 등의 방식으로 서술하는 글쓰기 활동이다.
