The purpose of this study is to consider the aesthetic characteristics of different types of superhero looks expressed in fashion in the 2000s. As for the research methodology, to classify types of superhero looks, theoretical study on superhero movies and case analysis of superhero movie costumes were undertaken. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. Superhero movie costumes have applied three types of superhero looks from high fashion. First, the fetish look applies the conception of the idealized body of the superhero through an hourglass silhouette bodysuit, corset, high glossy leather, sequins and metallic material. Second, the power look presents traditional men's power through simple functional outfits, geometric dress, and slick surfaces with details from superhero uniforms such as a cape or oversized belt. Third, the kitsch look uses various symbols and signs on a superhero’s uniform with a ‘fun’ code.

본 연구는 2000년대 대중문화의 전반에 걸쳐 다양한 모습으로 나타나고 있는 슈퍼히어로의 중요성을 인식하고, 특히 패션에 직․간접적 영감으로 작용하여 많은 영향을 미치는 슈퍼히어로 영화 의상의 특징과 패션에 나타난 사례를 분석함으로써 패션의 향방을 고찰해보고자 하였다. 연구방법은 슈퍼히어로 영화에 대한 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 2000년대 대표적 슈퍼히어로 영화 의상의 조형적 특징과 표현의도를 실증적 으로 분석하였다. 이러한 영화 의상의 특징이 나타나는 패션 사례를 조사하여 고찰한 결과는 슈퍼히어로 복장에 표현된 이상적 신체표현의 방식을 패션에 반영시킨 페티시 룩, 슈퍼히어로 복장에 표현된 초능력의 시각적 전달 방식을 패션에 표현한 파워 룩, 그리고 슈퍼히어로의 정체성을 나타내는 상징적 기호를 유희 적으로 재해석하여 패션에 적용시킨 키치 룩으로 구분되었다.
