This study develops a design of the uniform used for the ‘2010 World Oriental Medicine-Bio Expo’ held in Jecheon. A uniform was necessary for volunteers and staff from Jecheon for them to perform their tasks responsibly and for the event to run smoothly. The research analyzed, after briefly introducing definition and characteristics of the uniform, the purpose and background of the 2010 World Oriental Medicine-Bio Expo and developed uniforms for the event organization committee, volunteers, staff, and guides. The uniform was developed based on reinterpretation of the lines and characteristics of the hanbok, while focusing on the fact that the expo aims to raise awareness of oriental medicine, promote industrialization, and attract investors in the industry for the international traditional medicine market and demands from the international community. Recognition of the importance of the oriental medicine industry and the need to nurture it requires further development as a national project in the long run as many local governments are holding relevant events. Therefore, it seems that the uniform has significant value in that the hanbok can represent the image of a corporate or organization, and there should be more research and development in the field.

본 연구는 2010년 제천시에서 개최된 ‘제천 국제한방바이오엑스포’에서 착용된 유니폼디자인 개발사례 연구이다. 제천시 자원봉사자들과 현장요원들이 행사를 원활히 진행하고 책임감 있게 역할을 수행하기 위 해 유니폼의 필요성이 대두되면서 본 연구를 진행하게 되었다. 연구개발은 유니폼의 정의와 특성을 간략히 정리한 후, 제천 국제한방바이오엑스포의 개최 취지, 배경과 목표를 분석하여 행사 조직위원, 자원 봉사자, 진행요원, 도우미의 유니폼을 개발하게 되었다. 유니폼 개발은 엑스포의 특성과 목표가 한방을 재인식하고 한방의 산업화를 촉진시킴으로써 세계전통의학시장 및 국제사회의 요구에 부합하는 한방산업의 투자유치 임을 바탕으로 하여, 한복의 라인과 특성을 재해석하는 것에 중점을 두고 디자인·개발하였다. 한방산업의 중요성을 인식하고 육성이 필요한 시점에서 지자체에서 다양한 한방축제를 시행하고 있는 것은 국가산업 의 장기적인 안목으로 볼 때 더욱 발전되어야 한다. 이에 본 연구에서 개발된 국제한방바이오엑스포 유니 폼은 우리의 한복 문화가 단체와 기업의 이미지를 대표 할 수 있는 유니폼으로서도 상당한 가치가 있으며 앞으로 더욱 많은 연구와 개발이 필요하다.
