The results of a 2012 survey conducted by Global Research, Inc. at the request of the Korean Christianity Pastors’ Association present a serious challenge to Korean churches. According to the results of this research, 34.4% of all senior pastors who responded to this survey have frequently or occasionally doubted their calling to their ministry. In order to resolve this serious issue, the passage regarding the prophet Ezekiel’s calling was selected, which has been somewhat overlooked among the many call narratives in the Bible. After portioning off Ezekiel chapters 1-3, the meaning of the esoteric passages of this book was studied in minute detail based on the first three chapters. A specific focus was placed on the analytical process of how Ezekiel responded to God’s calling. The burden felt by Ezekiel is illuminated by reading between the lines provided, such as the series of visions, loud noises, the encounter with God, messages regarding judgment, the stubbornness of Israel, etc. The results of the exegesis of Ezekiel 3:14-15 greatly contributed to the elucidation of uncertain meanings contained in Korean version Bibles.

2012년 한국기독교목회자협의회가 ㈜글로벌리서치에 의뢰해 실시한 목회 자로서의 소명에 대한 질의, 응답의 결과가 한국 교회에 심각한 도전을 준다. 이 리서치에 따르면, 현재 담임목회자들 가운데 소명에 대해 자주 혹은 가끔 의심해 본 적이 있다는 응답이 전체의 34.4%에 이르는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 이 심각한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 성경의 여러 소명 내러티브들 중에서 다 소 간과되었던 선지자 에스겔의 소명 내러티브를 선택하였다. 먼저 에스겔 1- 3장의 단락을 구분하고, 이에 기초하여 난해한 본문의 의미를 상세하게 연구 하였다. 특히, 하나님의 소명에 대한 에스겔의 반응이 어떻게 나타나는지의 추 이 과정을 고찰하는데 집중하였다. 일련의 환상들, 시끄러운 소리들, 하나님과 의 조우, 심판의 메시지, 이스라엘의 완고함 등으로 인하여 소명에 대한 선지 자의 부담감이 행간 해석을 통하여 밝혀졌다. 에스겔 3장 14-15절의 주해 결 과는 대부분의 한글 번역 성경에서 나타나는 불명료한 의미를 뚜렷하게 밝히는데 공헌하였다.
