The study has been conducted to analysis collegiate soccer athletes' physical fitness and to predict an equation on their performance abilities. A total of 58 athletes participated and were classified into 2 groups(superior group and non-superior group). All participants were measured their physical fitness variables including cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, grip strength, abdominal muscle strength, sit-up, and push-up ability. Also, unaerobic capacity abilities including peak power, mean power, and fatigue index were measured. The result of each variable was divided into 3 fitness levels(upper, middle, lower) to find out the equation predicting performance ability. The main findings in this study are as follows. The mean of fitness levels were significantly different in body composition, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, abdominal muscle strength, peak power, and mean power. The variables to figure out superior athlete and non-superior athletes were body fat percent, waist hip ratio, sit-up, flexibility, abdominal muscle strength, and mean power. the results indicate that there are differences between superior soccer athletes and non-superior soccer athletes, in particular, on the aerobic exercise capacity and flexibility. This equation can use to predict each soccer athlete's performance ability, can use for training program, also can use as a recruit tool.
